02/13/08 - Bendel's the venerable women's fashion shop has added a branch of Chocolate Bar. Located upstairs the
space is really nice. Well laid out with a decent amount of space between tables. This shop is the perfect place to
recharge after a Fifth Avenue shopping binge. The chocolate is good with a nice mix of products. If you drop in grab a
cup of hot chocolate and a snack and try to get one of the window tables. Keep an eye on Fifth Avenue traffic and to
make the experience extra special you'll find yourself peering out through authentic Lalique windows. The windows were
designed by Rene Lalique after being commissioned by Francois Coty of Coty Perfume in 1912. They had been
forgotten by history and were almost demolished but ended up being restored in 1991. For a few dollars you can relax,
enjoy some above average chocolate and come face to face with a real work of art. See the picture below.
